PUPPY DEVELOPMENT

Liberty Hoeve Kennels' puppy development program is designed to prepare puppies for the physical and mental challenges that working dogs face as they mature. Puppies begin training on day 4 with the Bio Sensor Program and continue through day 16. Puppies are stimulated daily with different sounds starting at day 9 and this continues through adulthood. As the puppies mature and start walking we provide a variety of different surfaces for them to walk on, and they also start to negotiate small obstacles on a daily basis.
By the 4th week our pups are starting to eat 3 meals of puppy food a day and are totally weaned by the time they leave our kennels. Prey articles are introduced at 3-5 weeks as we start the prey building process. By week 6 each puppy has spent his or her own time in a small crate and has been on numerous short "car" trips to desensitize them to vehicles. From the moment of birth many different people handle our puppies and we encourage others to come to our kennels and "play" with our pups.
When the pups reach 6-7 weeks we start teaching the correct way to grip and proper bite technique. As the pups progress, we continue to subject them to many different situations on a daily basis until they leave our kennel. We pride ourselves on our puppy program, and we take a lot of time, and put in a lot of effort into preparing our dogs for what ever they might face as adults.
